Peggy's lab class 2 homework

The news I have chosen from the BBC is "Apple and Nokia's battle hots up ", which is about the lawsuit between Finland's Nokia and its US rival Apple has taken a new turn, with Apple countersuing Nokia over alleged patent violations.
In this news, there are one word that I'm not very sure its real meaning, so I presumed the meaning of this word even the whole sentence in advance. It aroused my curiosity to find what it means. My problem was as follows, ...
1.Now Apple, in turn, is claiming that the Finnish phone firm is infringing 13 of its technology patents.
infringing : I guessed the meaning is violate.

So I linked the first dictionary, which was the professor has provided. I keyed in word, and I found very clear definition in Thesaurus.com. And I got the word ''infringe'' is voilate. The second dictionary I used was the Virtual Language Centre. The definition for infringe is ''If something infringes people's rights, it interferes with these rights and does not allow people the freedom they are entitled to. ''
Eventually the fact is I'm right:) and those websites are very very useful for me.
