The most honest thing I have ever done is telling the truth to teacher that she scored my examination paper wrongly. It is really impressed me because I realize that to be honest is more important than getting good grades.
The events happened when I was a junior high school student. We had final exam and the teacher scored our examination papers quickly and gave back them to us. I was really happy at that time because my score is the highest in class. However, when we reviewed the papers again, I found that teacher miscalculated the scores. But if I told the teacher that she scored wrongly, I would lose the chance to get the first place. Also, my parents really looked forward to seeing my awards. I was really in dilemma and I did not know to tell the truth or not. I even had a nightmare that my classmates hated me very much and never told to me because of my dishonest. Finally, I told the teacher next day. Instead of disappointment, I felt happy and relief. Also, the teacher praised my honest in front of everyone in class. I knew that I made the right decision though I did not get the first place. I told my parents, too. They felt happy that I was an honest child. What they cared was my behavior not my grades.
After this event, I know that be an honest person is really important. If I did not tell the truth, I would have lived in regret for a long time. So I want to be an honest person and have clear conscience rather than be dishonest.

Of course I would hope that a student of mine would do that. But would some teachers feel that they had lost face, because their error had pointed out?
