Mandy's Lab6 Homework

Personality quiz could provide us with some information about ourselves. For example, I found a website that we can do some personality quiz, "http://www.prattandlambert.com/color/personality-quiz/interior/." And the following was my consequence. “These colors have all the elements of energy, friendliness and ease. They create a warm and cozy environment. The person who chooses this palette is generous and wants their home to be welcoming and friendly. Comfortable and casual furnishing reflect their desire to entertain and spend more time at home with their family and friends.” And by the way, my category was Sun-Kissed. I thought it is match with my personality well.

Compared with other on-line personality quiz, this quiz added some pictures to its questions, instead of making the quiz full of words. And I thought this way can let the quiz more interesting, because we will have difficulty making ourselves understand the whole question through words easily. That is to say, part of our brain was influenced by colors and pictures. And that was why I chose this one to introduce to everyone. I believed it can provide us with much more useful information.

In addition to my experience about doing personality quiz, there were still something I wanted to share. I loved finding and doing lot of personality quiz when I were free. So I had lots of resources to understand myself. However, strange to say, a few people trusted the quiz so much that they were stuck on the consequence. And then because they too cared about it, they could not make the choice by themselves. It was not a good result. I thought the quiz was made to help us understand the part of ourselves that we had troubles finding on our own way. But if we were controlled by the consequence, it was not the information we wanted. Put simply, I think the personality quiz was far more useful than other ways to understand ourselves if we used it well.

  2. I think the usefulness of a quiz depends on who designed it: a psychologist, someone with a blog, a vivid imagination and a lot of free time on their hands. Or, as in your case, a company selling paint!

Good post though, and I agree with about the use of pictures.
