孟孟(Catherine)'s lab homework

There are always new and interesting resources of learning English I found in NCCU everytime when taking class in lab. It is so wonderful that I can sit in a comfortable and technological classroom to learn English. It was my first time to speak English with my classmates by using earphone. The topic my partner shared with me was something about The Stephen Lawrence murder. The murder of Stephen Lawrence is a notable murder case surrounding the killing of an 18-year-old sixth form student.it was suggested during the course of investigation that the murder had a racist motive and that Lawrence was killed because he was black. The case is of extreme importance in British legal history as it heavily contributed to the creation and passing of the Criminal Justice Act 2003 that altered the centuries-old principle of double jeopardy .


The topic I was interested in was KKK. Why I choose this one was because that KKK is a notorious name in many novels or movies. However, I knew little about them. According to the wiki, Ku Klux Klan, often abbreviated KKK and informally known as The Klan, is the name of several past and present in the United States whose avowed purpose is to protect the rights and further the interests of White Americans of Protestant faith by violence and intimidation.


After talking to my partner, I visited the website Simon gave us. It is a interesting website providing much information about the police. Moreover, it provided you with a challenge which could let you know whether you have the ability of being the police or not.

I really had great time in such a cool classroom:)
