After reading the news, I tried to search the word I didn't understand such as amphibian and invertebrates. When I tried "amphibian" on the nciku website, it gave me both the Chinese and English explanation. I thought it great because I could choose which one I want to learn. Then, I looked it up on the GDEX Demo Dictionary, and it offered many collocations and example sentences so that I could learn words deeply. I also liked to google the words; after all, some words are easier to understand through our eyes. The different dictionary really helped me a lot and brought me lots of fun.

Charlotte's lab homework2
The BBC news I chose in the class is "Species' extinction threat grows." Although the goal of this class was to choose ten difficult words from the news, I still read it completely and it left me a profound impression. Because of the stunning statistics, I was informed of the crisis of mounting extinction. More than a third of species in a major international biodiversity study are threatened with extinction. The latest update showed that amphibians were the most seriously affected group of organisms on the earth. Moreover, the plants were deemed as the large parts of extinction. I thought that in our lifetime, we seldom worried about a small number of extremely threatened species. As a result, we should take some actions to make up for it. After all, every living things is a crucial part of the world.
