I thought the lab class was very unusual but rather successful! As Mr. Smith has said, this course ought to be a student-centered class, and it appears to be quite efficient while students work on their own. Since this is a small scale of class, it would be available for teacher to consult with every single student once in while when we have difficulties or questions to be solved for the lab class.
The instructions were very clear and understanding, and the levels of difficulties were also appropriate. Each task from the three websites-BBC, Preposition Practice, and Randall's ESL Listening Lab-is related to our topic: advertisement. Therefore, this gives us a brief knowledge background about all the aspects of advertisement.
I have finished all the tasks given on the instructon, and also explored the Randall's lab class. On one hand, all of the websites are very useful and interesting for learning, none of them are boring at all! They truly provides complete and attractive test simulation and explanation of answers. On the other hand, each of the websites has its own distinctive features for learning. The BBC Learning English Ceter does not simply provide improving listening skill, but at the same time, we can also acquire large amounts of information from the news, complete understanding on useful vocabulary, and learn more about the story! The Preposition Practice is quite refreshing since “Fill-in-the-blanks” is fun and helpful. As for the Randall's, it has different levels of learning tasks for different objectives. I have done a "difficult" quiz which lasts for 4 minutes long. Even more shocking is that I could hardly understand the audio untill I read through the script carefully, just because the topic was "Japanese Economy", and consists of too many economical vocabulary.
