Welcome again to NCCU, to the College English class, and to the College English blog!
It's been fun teaching the first two classes, and I have enjoyed reading your emails and learning more about you all.
This blog post is really just for administrative issues. I'll write another later, with more information about English learning and what we'll be doing in the class.
I just called the book distributor, Dunhuang, and it seems the Ideas & Issues books have now arrived in Taiwan. They are now promising to get them to the NCCU bookstore by Monday lunchtime. I hope they keep their promise!
You have now found the blog, of course. You can get back here by going to www.blogger.com.
If you need to contact me, the correct email address to use is simon.tuesday9小老鼠gmail.com. Please don't use other email addresses.
All the introduction emails I have received have now been graded. The in-class emails to Peter Hull will probably be graded on Monday.
To sign up for the BBC email service (this week's homework) please go to http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/WebObjects/ESSReg.woa/1/wa/newUser?serviceCode=UKFS_DAILY_EMAIL_NEWS_FIRST&wosid=fhX2trLPSdhO2nirctMPTg. That takes you straight to the sign-up page. Don't forget to forward one email to me, to prove that you have really signed up. And try to read it every day!
The class website is now ready. Please go to http://www3.nccu.edu.tw/~smithsgj/ce-main.htm or just http://tinyurl.com/zhengda.
On the website, you will find PDF version of the class PowerPoint slides, and a grade file for the class. Always check your grade file, and make sure it is the same as the grade sent by email, or written by me on your paper.
For class work: please remember to bring good file paper to every class.
